What you do

👗 Fashion Workshop with Morana Krklec – Upcycling & Garment Deconstruction ✂️ The core idea of this fashion workshop is recycling and upcycling – rethinking how we can give clothes a second life, instead of replacing and discarding them too easily. Morana will show how garments that no longer work for us – don’t fit, feel outdated or boring – can, through simple interventions, be turned into something new, wearable and exciting again. The focus is both on form and function: a dress can become a tunic, top or vest; trousers can turn into a skirt; a shirt can be transformed into a light jacket or kimono‑style layer. Changes can be minimal (shortening, slits, asymmetrical hems) or involve full deconstruction, completely redefining the silhouette and how the piece is worn. 🔧 What should you bring? one (or more) of your own garments you’d like to transform a pair of scissors, preferably dressmaking scissors, for clean cuts in fabric; it can be agreed whether participants bring their own or the organiser provides them There will be no sewing during the workshop, so having good scissors is key to making the final result look neat and intentional. 👗 About Morana Krklec – Designer and Founder of MO design The workshop is led by Morana Krklec, a fashion designer and creator of her eponymous womenswear brand, active on the local scene for more than a decade. Early in her career, she received several awards for students and young designers and presented her work at various local and international fairs, festivals and showrooms. A turning point came with the Best Young Fashion Designer in Croatia award in 2012, at the LIFT by Perwoll competition within Fashion.hr, which brought her broader recognition from professionals and the public. Since then, she has presented seasonal collections of deconstructed minimalism at events such as Atelier, Dan D, Skopje Design Week, Zavod Big – Month of Design, and international platforms like Cro Art and Craft Expo and CUBE Showroom. ✨ What will you do in the workshop? analyse your garment: what doesn’t work, what can be highlighted or changed learn simple cutting and deconstruction moves that alter the cut, volume and way the piece is worn – all without sewing with Morana’s guidance, design a new form or function – e.g. dress → top, shirt → kimono, trousers → skirt ✨ IMPORTANT: no prior sewing or design skills are needed – perfect for anyone wanting a more conscious relationship with their wardrobe the focus is on upcycling, sustainability and personal style, not on fast‑changing trends spots are limited, registration via form is required
