Hands‑on workshops like this are known to be especially effective for young people learning music tech and creative skills. About the mentor 👩‍🎤 The workshop is led by Ivona Eterović – tonota, a producer and musician who started in an electronic rap duo and now creates solo work. Her music blends ambient, experimental and bass electronics with elements of traditional music, which gives participants a broad view of what’s possible in electronic production. Tonota composes for theatre and film and produces albums for other artists. Her recent projects include a collaboration with Vesna Pisarović for a show at Arena Zagreb, music for animated films at Animafest and compositions for an installation at Festival of Lights – concrete examples of how music production skills translate into real‑world projects. About MBZ PLAY 🎼 MBZ PLAY grew out of previous Music Biennale Zagreb programmes and workshops for children and youth. It runs throughout the year and focuses on co‑creation, experimentation and creativity, continuing the Biennale’s vision that contemporary music is for everyone. This workshop is completely free of charge thanks to the support of the City of Zagreb and CeKaTe, as part of the Kultura u zajednici (Culture in the Community) programme, which helps open access to music education and digital tools for young people.

The Zagreb Music Biennial is Croatia's largest festival dedicated to the adventure of contemporary music. Since its founding in 1961, the MBZ program has been unburdened by genre limitations and accompanied by discussions, knowledge exchange, experimentation, and play. Every other year, a series of Zagreb spaces becomes a meeting place colored by all shades of contemporary music—from symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, and contemporary opera to jazz, improvised, electronic and alternative music, sound experiments, multimedia installations, and contemporary dance.
