🧵✂️ Sewing & Pattern Cutting Course with Josipa Ščapec
This sewing and pattern cutting course is led by fashion designer Josipa Ščapec, MA, the creative mind behind the SCHAPÉ DESIGN bridal brand, known for unique wedding dresses worn by women around the world. With her passion, years of experience and eye for detail, you’ll be guided safely through your first steps in sewing – from getting to know the machine to creating your own simple garment.
The course is held in small groups of 5–6 students, with a total of 16 school hours divided into 4 sessions of 4 school hours each, which ensures plenty of time for questions, feedback and personalised guidance. You’ll learn how to operate a sewing machine, practise basic seams, take body measurements, work with patterns, choose suitable fabrics and, by the end of the course, complete a simple piece of clothing under Josipa’s supervision.

Getting to know the sewing machine
You’ll learn how to use the sewing machine correctly, understand its functions and follow basic safety rules.
Basic stitches and techniques
You’ll practise core stitches and techniques that make seams neat, durable and professional-looking.
Pattern cutting and measurements
You’ll learn how to take measurements, work with patterns and adjust them to different body shapes and sizes.
Fabric selection
You’ll discover which fabrics work best for different types of garments and how to choose the right one for your project.
Creating a simple garment
Guided by Josipa, you’ll complete a simple piece of clothing, from pattern and cutting to the final stitch.
Pro tips for better sewing
Josipa will share practical tips, shortcuts and best practices to help you achieve more professional results at home.
