🐾🏙️ BARKOUR – Dog Parkour (STANDARD Program)
On 12 April 2026, join BARKOUR – Dog Parkour, a workshop for everyone who wants to add more value to time spent with their dog and strengthen the human–dog bond. It’s especially useful if you feel your dog is “never tired” after walks or that your training efforts are not paying off, no matter how hard you both try.
With dog parkour you learn to use everyday surroundings – benches, curbs, steps, walls, grassy areas – as a safe obstacle course for mental and physical enrichment.
🎯 What you will learn (STANDARD program)
Using clear, dog‑friendly methods, you turn an ordinary walk into a shared training session:
motivating your dog in different ways (primarily with food, but also play and interaction)
timing and reward delivery – when and why to reward for specific behaviours
building and maintaining focus in a distracting environment
working on touch and body awareness so the dog accepts being guided by gentle contact
helping the dog realise it has four paws 😉 – better balance, coordination and safe movement on different surfaces
group socialisation – working around other dogs and people with controlled encounters
You will first practice on a challenge course with provided equipment, then transfer the same principles into a real‑life environment so you can continue parkour on your own walks.
💪 How BARKOUR builds your dog’s confidence
By overcoming various everyday obstacles, your dog:
✅ gains a sense of success – each small conquered challenge boosts confidence
✅ works through insecurities, especially shy dogs – they face “new things” in a safe setting, supported by their handler
✅ develops focus, courage and cooperation – learning to think, assess and work with you, all wrapped in play and fun 🙂
As a team, you also practice polite encounters with other dogs and people, simulate everyday situations and strengthen appropriate behaviour in public spaces. There’s time to talk, ask questions and discuss any doubts about your dog’s behaviour and your relationship.
