🧵📚 Design Beginnings: Sew Your Own Bookmark!
On Saturday, 21 February 2026 at 10:30, the Croatian Designers Association (HDD) will host a free workshop titled “Sew Your Own Bookmark!” as part of the Dizajnerska početnica (Design Beginnings) programme. Led by artist and designer Laura Barić, the workshop is aimed at upper primary school students and introduces them to basic sewing techniques and bookmark making using leftover fabrics.
Participants will learn straight and zig-zag stitches on a sewing machine and discover how discarded textiles (old T-shirts, tablecloths, curtains) can be transformed into new, functional and aesthetically pleasing objects. Along the way, they will develop their sense of sustainability, design and visual expression, and each participant will go home with a unique, handmade bookmark.
