🐶 How to (Better) Understand Your Dog – Pas&ja workshop in Rijeka
Trainer: Ana Jurenić, K9 Nosework Croatia
When: Sunday afternoon, start at 15:00
⏱ Duration: 2–2.5 hours (by agreement)
📍 Location: “Tenk”, Kampus Trsat
💶 Price: 40 €
This new Pas&ja program is for anyone who wants a clearer, kinder, more realistic understanding of their dog – beyond myths and quick fixes. In a relaxed but structured workshop, we cover the basics of canine communication, how to read body language, and the most common mistakes we humans make in everyday interactions.
We will:
break down what your dog is saying with tail, ears, eyes, posture and movement
talk about how we communicate back and where misunderstandings arise
go through typical handler mistakes (ignoring stress signals, mixed messages, unrealistic expectations)
show, on practical examples, what can help in daily situations – walks, meeting other dogs, visitors, arousal, fear…
In a friendly setting, you can ask about your own dog and relationship, and finally get answers you maybe didn’t know whom to ask. The goal is not to “fix the dog” in one session, but to give you knowledge and tools for ongoing work.
⚙️ Registration & terms
Spots are limited, and we fill the group in order of registrations.
Make sure you enter a correct e‑mail address – you’ll receive a confirmation there; without it, registration is not valid.
A few days before the workshop you’ll receive payment instructions by e‑mail; your spot is reserved only after payment.
If you cancel, no refund is possible; if the trainer cancels, your payment is refunded.
🎒 What to bring
food and treats (we work with food motivation, so your dog should arrive a bit hungry)
a longer and shorter leash (no flexi)
collar and preferably a harness
good mood – and your dog 🙂
Please fill in the “notes about the dog” section in as much detail as possible so we can make the workshop comfortable and safe for both of you.
Note:
it is not possible to fix all unwanted behaviours in a single workshop, but you’ll get clear directions on how to work on them.
the workshop is not recommended for handlers who have a strong fear of other dogs – get in touch first for individual guidance.
the workshop takes place outdoors, in a public space and on leash; the area is covered, so we continue even if it rains (wear suitable clothes and shoes, and bring water, food and a coat for your dog if needed).
You’re welcome to bring family members who also handle the dog – so you can all “speak the same language”.
If there is high interest, we can organize groups on both Saturday and Sunday, two separate workshops (two groups) or a 2‑day mini intensive for the same group.
